Photoshop Render Study



Really influenced by this artist's character design click here and give him the credit.  I just really enjoy his rendering style so I wanted to teach myself on how I would approach to get similar results.

Took all together a little over an hr. learned a lot by making better color choices and not using the eye dropper, again was a personal exercise so that I can improve my future paintings.

Big O' Noggin

Think I am pretty much done with this guys Face piece, gave an attempt at trying to merge this jungle frankenstien together BUT zbrush being its impossible to use lovable self i could only get cross intersecting meshes together as one tool(in other words he just looks crazy) Ssssso we all know what this means.... now mr big guy had won himself some brand new jewelry in the form of some fancy ass bracelets and nice gold chain to go around his neck. Zbrush is trying to break me but i shall not falter.

Hairy Start

The craziness begins. I've come up with a way to create the sections quickly but styling the hair to keep it from looking funny is another story. Should work better when there are more strands

 Re-topologizing the face

Retopped face vs. face exported at level 2 division

The mesh on the right is more messy but also has more detail. Feeling like retopping with clean loops was a waste of time since the one on the left is about 4000 polygons and the one on the right is 5000. 

I think from here that I'll clean up the level 2 exported mesh and go on to adding the crazy hair

FX Animation




Rough FX animation done in Flash for an iPad app.  Next step is to create some more samples and take them into After Effects to put some glow on the muzzle fire and blur up the smoke and particles.

ZBrush Male Bust

Just messing around with Dynamesh and getting use to ZBrush again. I want to add wrinkles and more asymmetry details could push the smerk some more too.  Had fun doing it so hope to create more soon.
